“Can I come back to refill my prescription for birth control?” Preterm wanted to answer “yes” to that question. For 40 years, Preterm has provided exceptional abortion care. We also wanted to help meet the unmet need for affordable, accessible healthcare in our community.

So we developed a plan to evolve into a more comprehensive provider of sexual health care accessible to everyone, while improving the health and lives of the women of Northeast Ohio. Today, we offer a variety of sexual health services.

Birth Control

There are lots of safe, effective birth control methods to choose from. We can help people find the method that’s right for them—everything from the pill, the patch, the ring, the shot, to long-acting methods like an IUD or implant.

STD Testing & Treatment

We know it can be hard to talk about sex with a health care provider. Our staff is always respectful, nonjudgmental, and confidential. We test for and treat: chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, herpes, trichomoniasis, bacterial vaginosis, pubic lice, crabs, HPV, and yeast infections. We also test for HIV.

Wellness Care

A wellness appointment includes a consultation with one of our health care providers, physical exam, pelvic exam, Pap test, breast exam, pregnancy test, birth control options, and an evaluation for any other screenings and tests that may be needed. We can also provide specific gynecological services for people who don’t need a complete wellness check-up.

Since opening our doors in 1974, we’ve empowered women to make decisions about a pregnancy. When a woman can control her health, she can control her body, her life, and her future.
